Research Laboratory of Home Health Care

We welcome you to the official website of the Research Laboratory of Home Health Care (RLHHC). The Laboratory is linked to the Sector of Community Nursing & Public Health Nursing of the Nursing Department of the School of Health Sciences and Welfare at the University of West Attica.

The "Research Laboratory of Home Health Care" is an original endeavour, which serves the purpose of the scientific and functional interconnection of the UNIWA Nursing Department with the community, i.e. the provision of health and nursing care services at home, aims at the organization of educational and research services in the field of home health care and aims to organize innovative research and education programmes as well as to provide quality evidence-based home health care services.

Studies document that home health care is an economically viable option for health systems and additionally meets quality goals for health systems, namely safety, effectiveness, patient-centered care, timely provision of services, efficiency and equitability.

In this context, the necessity for organization and operation of home health care services is highlighted at international and national levels as the key to the cost control of health care systems and to ensure the continuity and integration of the health care of the population.

We express the belief that the research laboratory with the research, educational and general scientific work of its members as well as the provision of home health care services will become a pole for the development of home health care services in our country.

The laboratory website comprises a search guide for all interested parties, Research bodies, Researchers, Academic Institutions, Organizations, Public and Private Sector Bodies as well as Non-Profit Sector Bodies, Citizens, Patients and Caregivers. Its members, maintaining multidimensional, continuous and high-level work in the field of community nursing and home nursing care, look forward to responding to questions, requests and needs of each interested party.
